Cattle & Dog Shows
Gumnuts farm is happy to be introducing our new Cattle
& Dog Show package. This part of Australia is traditionally
a dairy and beef cattle area. Considering this history
we decided to put together a show demonstrating the skills
in Horsemanship and animal training that are an every
day part of this industry.
The shows are run by Mr Dave Hogg, a former Australian
Cutting Champion, who has worked in the industry and with
animals all his life. |
|
| |
Shows include billy tea and Damper
(bush bread) with Dave swinging the billy as our customers
arrive. A ‘muster’ to bring the Cattle into
the yard where they are briefly worked by Dave’s
trusty dogs, before Dave mounts up to provide our customers
with a Cutting demonstration.
Cutting involves separating one steer from the herd and
stopping it from rejoining them. This is now an internationally
recognised sport as well as being of practical use when
dealing with Cattle in a yard. |
